- Hardness
- This Bio-cast Casting Tape is lighter than traditional plaster casts but it becomes over 20 times as rigid as plaster casts.
- Ventilation
- The fabric of this Bion-Cast is designed for a knit form with elasticity, so the skin breathing is very smooth. It does not, therefore, cause any problem of the symptoms such as an itch, a bad odor, a skin contagion and so on.
- Application
- The process of application is just done by immersing the roll of this Bio-Cast Casting Tape in water and wrapping it around the wounded part, and then it becomes completely rigid within 20minutes after wrapping.
- Radiolucency
- Unlike the traditional plaster casts, this Bio-Cast has excellent radiolucency. So X-rays may be taken without removing the cast at the settings.
- Variety
- Bio-Cast Casting Tapes with various colors can be produced and supplied so that it may be possible for patients to select their favorite color.
- BIO-CAST Application Technique

- Apply several layers of stockinette. and apply cast padding over the affected body part.

- Submerge if in room temperature water(22~25℃/68~77℉) for 3~5seconds. Squeeze the roll 2~3times while under water. Remove the roll from water and shake out excess water. Do not twist or squeeze the roll.

- Construct cast by wrapping rolls in a spiral manner, overlapping previous layers by a half or two thirds the width of the roll being used. Do not use execssive tension when applying roll.

- Rub and smooth tape between layers and on the surface of the cast for improved lamination and layer adhesion.

- With 6 white rabbits, this test was conducted to evaluate the degree of Skin Reaction of Bio-Cast Casting Tape on the basis of the test standards of Korea National Institute of safety Research on the request of test is summarized as follows : The PII(Primary Irritation Index) of the administered group indicated 0.21(between 0.0 and 0.5). Therefore, the tested Bio-Cast Casting Tape has been evaluated as non-stimulus(for reference, the PII of the controlled group was 0.168)
